Nyaako Cattery is a small, cageless cattery in Greensboro, NC, focusing on showing and breeding the golden persian cat. We also have the occasional shaded persian, and are working towards including the blue golden persian into our bloodlines. The word ‘Nyaako’ is Japanese – a culture that inspires the cattery’s owners greatly – with ‘nyaa’ being the Japanese sound for ‘meow’ and ‘ko’ being a sort of cute ending… so you could translate it as ‘little meow’!

Nyaako Cattery is a very small operation – a wife, a husband, a couple of friends and family, as well as a dog! In charge of the whole operation is Miranda Pahl, a pre-vet that considers her cats to be her children. Because of this, we are pleased to present you with kittens and cats with the sweetest dispositions – lap cats that want to be loved and cuddled, but are also completely, 100% healthy. All of our kings and queens are DNA tested for PKD, a common kidney disease in persians, before they are even considered for breeding. This insures that you have the healthiest cat possible to take home!

Our kittens are all handled and loved from day one, and the result is a cat that loves and trusts humans for the rest of its life. Most of our kittens will have a conversation with you – that is how much they want to connect!
